Abstract
HIV infection and other chronic infectious diseases profoundly alter immune regulation, hematologic homeostasis, and inflammatory pathways. These alterations influence susceptibility to opportunistic infections, vaccine responsiveness, hematologic abnormalities, and allergic manifestations. Understanding the interconnected mechanisms linking immunodeficiency, immune activation, and blood disorders is essential for improving preventive and therapeutic strategies. This mini review synthesizes current knowledge on immune dysregulation in HIV and infectious diseases, with particular focus on hematologic complications, vaccine responses, and allergic phenomena. Emerging insights highlight the need for integrated immunologic and hematologic approaches in patient management.
